In orde r to re duce redundancy, any family group which is wholly included within another family tre e may not be re port ed separat ely. Above each of the great-grandparent boxes (top row), a continuation fami ly tree refe re nce number is shown if the great-grandparent is recorde d as a child in the conti nuation tre e. A continuat ion reference num ber is also shown to the l eft of a grandparent or parent box if that individual has siblings reported in the cont inuation t re e; and be ne ath a c hi ld box (bottom row) if that individual has children re po rt ed in the c ontinuati on tree. In cases of multiple marriages, a continuation re fe rence numbe r pre ceded by " =" is shown to the right of a parent box.
